Decker’s Diet Tips & Tricks

In my past dieting posts I have mentioned we live in a time when dieting has never been easier, but we also live in a time when dieting has never been harder. Since Josh and I have started dieting, we have needed to find alternatives to our snacking and sweet tooth. It is easier to change lifestyle eating if you can still satisfy cravings. Josh and I, mostly Josh, have done some food research and found some really good low-calorie alternatives. I was telling my friend about some of these alternatives we use and I thought I would share. These treats have saved both our sweet tooth and our salty tooth. ūüôā

I love the Yasso bars and the Blue Bunny Vanilla Krunch bars. I like ice cream but I like crunchy textures of chocolate and cookie dough. Here are two good options.


Josh really likes the Halo Top ice cream. He loves the quantity you get for the calories. My favorite flavors are Vanilla and Strawberry.

Josh loves peanut butter and that has been hard not being able to satisfy his peanut butter cravings because peanut butter has A LOT of calories. Josh found this substitute and adds it to his oatmeal and protein shakes.

Josh and I both love chips. It has been hard not being able to eat chips and satisfy that salt craving. These magical chips are only 120 calories per serving (which is 25 chips). They have a lot of flavor. My favorite chips are the sour cream and onion and Josh really likes the barbecue flavored chips.

I also want to include popcorn (picture absent). I like the bagged popcorn like Pop Secret and Josh likes air popped popcorn. The bagged popcorn has more calories but even so, a cup of popcorn has only 30 calories. You can eat 4 cups for 120 calories. Air popped has even less with minimal amount of oil.

I really like bread and most bread has a lot of calories. Sara Lee 45 Calories and Delightful bread is awesome (picture absent). Each slice only has 45 calories and it satisfies both of our bread wants.

These are just a few products that have helped satisfy our cravings along this path to a healthier life. #happydieting
